I really want to connect my Wii to my PC monitor but it only has DVI sockets on the back (Mitsubishi RDTl945S). My PC has a Geforce 7800GS graphics card which has a HDTV, S-Video, and AV output. Would it be possible to connect my Wii to this?

Any help appreciated.

ok... you have a couple of options, which would all be sort of expensive

there is a vga cable on this website... http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/accessories/index.html

i don't know if they will ship to america or if they have it on american site

you can get a capture card which would be the easiest option, unless it allready has one, did you build your pc? if you did did you put a capture card in? if you bought it, what pc did you buy?

and you can get an expensive thing that will cost more than an hdtv to convert A/V to DVI

Just the Job

Hi, I read your post and yes there is a device that is called the Grand console.
It is here http://www.powersellers.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=166

Thats designed especially for the job and is not very expensive either
oh your monitor has DVI sockets too??
Does your PC Monitor have a cable built into it or just sockets on the back so you can plug a DVI Cable into it? You can get a VGA to DVI adaptor for a few quid..

hate to burst any bubbles...

on that jap nintendo site, i dont think its a VGA cable, in japan there is a connection very similar i have only heard it being reffered to as 'japanese d-sub' but am pretty certain its not the same as out normal vga d-sub connections

Gary's right. It's basically a small step up from s-video on certain japanese TVs. It won't work on monitors.

That being said, there's many boxes and such available for purchase on the internet. Just look around; you can convert any input to virtually any output.
