I'd say I'm pretty nerdy, but I do alot of un-nerdy things too, I go to heavy metal concerts, I'm fairly sociable and generally easy to get along with when I go out somewhere, and I can look a less scary when I put a bit of effort into getting dressed up
Having said that, I do play alot of video games and watch anime, if I have any spare time I post up here (go figure ) I study aswell, and yeah... I'm pretty nerdy! However it's not necasserily a bad thing, being "nerdy" over here in Aus is becoming much more accepted and "nerds" seem less ostracized nowadays.
I suppose it's also the level of dedication to the ideal of "nerdiness" and how willing those individuals are to adopt other peoples' views and ideas instead of adhering to only what they know. Some people are only hardcore nerds and have been for a long time - spends ALL their spare time on their computers, does not socialise much, or at least in conventional senses (ie: going out, parties, clubs/bars) as a less conventional approach to socialising could be considered online chat or forums.
I'm certainly not a hardcore nerd, although I do know of hardcore nerds (I was abducted by a group of them today in the city) and justabout everything they said were either an "in-joke" of WOW, AOL-Speak, Counter-Strike or Halo terminology or an anime/hentai/guro reference. I was a little scared... I mean they were nice guys though, but just a little scary...
