Notice how he said its repetitive but doesn't take much away from the game?
Yeah, it means its not as bad or as repetitive as you like to imagine. And to the motion controls comment. If you have read other things and knew about the game, he wanted to tune the waggling of the remote as he thought it would be tiresome and overall not fun. Surely with you being the "repetitive detective" you aren't too disappointed about that news. There is other motion controls in the game, with his bike etc.
Just stop hating on the game dude, we know how you feel.

Yea, I'm a bit disappointed by that. I am hoping that the game gets at least a low 90% overall from all reviews counted.
