They look kiddy because they're THQ and Activision games based mostly on crappy movies and other game titles. The only good game, with boxart in this thread is Red Steel.

Edit: 2 Nickelodeon games, Cars, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, which is a travesty of gaming. I think that explains why these are giving the wrong impression to you.
