@Ck: Ive been hxc training meta, just to e-temp-t to get back to my toury days. As soon as I finish getting all the rust off, Ill start "variety".

My match with King using Olimar got me confused on which one was my Pikmin. It was a good match even though I lost. I don't have Olimar dittos ever and it was a great experience. Don't play CK with your Olimar King. It's not that I don't think that you could beat him but you will get edgehogged and loose. It's a ***** that Olimar has a weak recovery then dealing with edgehoggers. I want friendlys with CK one of these days.

I already figured out a way to stop edgeguarding with Olimar. Well... multiple ways. They probably wouldn't work on CK, at first, but I'm sure after a few games I'd get the hang of it.

It's not called edgeguarding it's called edgehogging. They are to different things.
Edgeguarding-When you prevent your opponent from getting back to the stage by hitting them.
Edgehogging-When you cowardly stay hanging on the ledge by purpose to prevent your opponent(s) from recovering which usually leads to their unfair death. Usually done by cowards that know that they can't beat a certain person(s).

Those definitions are put in my words.

How are you going to stop him King? What are your plans?

Olimar has a view ways to prevent both of those, but two of them take a lot of practice. If you want I can try and teach them to you later (I'll have to re-practice it anyway since it's been a while).

People can teach other people what their lacking and even if they got it down pat... they won't get rusty this way.

Hm, I never used Olimar, but he may just have crappy recovery. You could watch some videos of experienced Olimar users and you may find a solution (if there is a solution, that is).

I have to say it was quite funny.

An official is 2-3 matches. We had about 20 XD. We kept ending running the timer out or not even getting one kill on each other... so lots of Sudden Deaths. It was quite fun... even if it has never happened before .

The second definition really has no value, you can't just jump on the ledge for an easy gimp. It takes prediction to decide if your enemy will go straight for the ledge, recovers above it, or even try to attack you once your invincibility frames are up. If you just jump on the ledge ASAP, you'll be hit by a recovery move (unless they're Olimar, Ivysaur, or Zamus; although they can still stage spike, just less often) and you'll get knocked off the ledge, or worse, stage spiked to your doom.

Edgehogging is in no way a cheap death, considering it takes strategy and prediction. Especially not in a competitive match where money and pride are at stake.

It's okay CK... I'm teaching him a few tricks how to counter it with Olimar. Edgehogging is very easy to stop with Olimar... MK's edgeguarding however can be beastly. That takes more skill to get past. I need to practice to get my aim right... haven't used Olimar in a while (well against an edgeguarder at least).

I actually saw an amazing Olimar in a tourney who survived several edgehog attempts from a Marth, and in most cases put him close to death.

Basically he just timed the Up B at weird times. So what happened is that when Marth went for the edge, he'd get hit by the Pikmin and stage spiked. It was very interesting to see.

Anyway, the Up B can be incredible against edgehogging. You can hit them with an Up B and then follow with a spike (takes precise timing, but it's crazy XD).
