Your Results Of calling/asking about wii

Okay. I wanna know your results on calling your local electronic store or asking an employee about the wii. Maybe you had a dumb employee who had no idea what you were talkingabout? Maybe something dumber.

Here are mine :
EBgames:
"Hello?"
"Hello and welcome to EBgames how may i help you?"
"Uhh yea, I was just wondering how many wiis you guys are gonna get?"
"Limited Supply"
"So you guys have no idea what so ever how many your getting?"
"Limited Supply"
"Okay then.. Thank you , Bye"

Loblaws, Electronique store, Talking to an old guy who was an employee.
"Hello, Are you guys taking preorders for the Wii?"
"The what?"
"The wii."
"The nintendo thing?"
"Err yea."
"No but were getting them on nov 19th."

"Hello, you called gamestop, this is Tom speaking, how may I help you?"
"Hey, are you definately accepting pre-orders for the Wii tomorrow?"
"Yes, and you need at least $50 dollars down on it."
"And how many do you think you'll be getting?"
"We're not sure, but we are expecting around 30."
"Ok, thanks."

My gamestop dudes know what they are talking about. =)

well i never called but i told my friend and he said his brother wanted one so i told him to call around, he called walmart(he didnt want to say wii because he said he would feel dumb)

"Walmart how may i help you"
"yes are you guys doing reservations for the new nintendo?"
walmart girl- "The DS?"
"No, the new console that isnt out yet, the Wii"
"ohh the gamecube, thats for sale now" - walmart girl.
"No the wii not the gamecube"
"theirs no such thing as a wii" -walmart

he just hung up after that

*Walked in and up to the counter*

Me : "Are you taking preorders of the Nintendo Wii yet?"

HMV Guy : "The thing with the wand? No not yet."

Me : "Ok, Thanks."

*Walked out before I commented on the use of the term 'wand'*

Game Store experience (same day, 2 minutes after HMV experience, stores are next to each other).

*Walked in, store was empty and I walked to counter*

Me : "Hi, are you taking preorders of the..."

*Looks up to see the 6 foot poster saying "Nintendo Wii Preorders now being taken"*

Me : "Ummm... that please *points to poster*"

GameGuy : "Ok, fill in this form and please hand me your game card"

*Hand over game card and fill in form*

GameGuy : "Ok, you're number 27 in the list, we're getting at least 30 so you got in there just in time. We'll call you with any new information we get. Are there any games you really want, so I can call you when we take preorders for them?"

Me : "Zelda for sure, Red Steel too maybe."

GameGuy : *Notes down games on my preorder entry* "Ok, we'll give you call when they're ready." <<Here comes the best bit>> "If you have the internet, you should goto www.wiichat.com, easier to see all the latest news on there."

Me : "Thanks, I'll have a look. Bye."

That was a few weeks ago now, just finally got around to registering. Preorder required a £20 deposit only.

First i called TRU and they said they had only 11 preorders next i went in person on the same day and the manager said there were 20 I went back at 11pm and the note on the door said they have 40 preorder tickets I'm glad I didn't listen to the girl on the phone because now I have a preorder.

Well, I went into this gameshop in DK (Where I live..This is translatet, through.. We don't useally speak english in tha DK-shops..)..

Me: "Hi"
This freaksome man: "Hello, how may I help you"
Me: "Well, do you people here take preorders?"
This freaksome man: "Well, sorry, but the Wii will NOT come to Denmark..Sorry.."
Me: "Ehh.. .. .. What?!"
This freaksome man: "As I said, it will NOT come to Denmark"
Me: "Ehh.. Well.. bye.. .. .."

-About ten minutes later, in front of my PC (Well, I WANT A MAC BUT MONEY DOESNT REACH!!), I found out that he was completely lying in my face.. Great way to get customers, you know!

I went to gamestop and the guy there said that their entire initial shipment would be preorders (they didn't expect to have any extra). He said that they hoped to get another shipment in before Christmas, but he wasn't sure if that would happen. He also said that this mysterious second shipment would probably go to people who preordered as well - that there would be another round of preorders after launch date for the second shipment.

Same guy said they're only getting 17 PS3s between now and Easter.

My money is on the Wal-mart that just opened this summer out in BFE (they said they're getting them and will be putting them on the shelf at 8a). More on that plan in another thread.
