hey ya'll.
Luckily for me, my girlfiends mother has managed to pick me up a wii from Spain a few days ago, and I was wondering it anyone knew if I would have any problems using it in the UK?
Apart from the possibility of getting stung for import duty, and needing to use a EU to UK adapter in the end of the plug, does anyone know if I'm gonna have troubles with connecting and viewing on a UK TV, or if the machine/discs will all be in Spanish,(are they region coded?) or if I need to buy Spanish games for it?
And if the wifi options will work ok over here, as I'm well looking forward to free downloads overnight.
I decided to get her to buy it anyway, as I'm pretty positive i can get it to work ok over here 1 way or another.

Your comments would be much appreciated.
Thanks

4 player can play WiiSports. You can use 4 controllers at once, and I believe Boxing in Wii sports is all you need a nunchuck for in WiiSports

AFAIK, the Wii's they sell in Spain are the same ones they sell in the rest of Europe, except with the language changed to Spanish in the settings.

I't's pretty easy to go into settings and change it to English.

If you've got a wii, I bet you could make yours display in spanish.

Hi,

You shouldn´t have any problem in playing your English games on the Spanish Wii. Also you can configure the Wii to spanish. The WiiSports comes in English (voices + text) and if you put your Wii in Spanish, only the text will change to Spanish.
The region is the same.
The only thing which might give you problems is the TV. Althought I am not sure 100%. I remember when my sister left the UK, She gave here VCR and TV to me and I needed to make some changes because it seemed that the frequency was different. But then again, that was 10 years ago.....

But if you connect it to a monitor, it is OK.

the only thing I can think you'll have to check out is the PAL/NTSC thing... I don't know if Spain is PAL or not...

*update* just checked a list for you: http://www.rmbwoc.com/vidpage/itvstd.html

Spain and UK both use the PAL standard; your Wii will work fine.

Wait.. I'm new here... I'm from Chile, and my little brother only speaks spanish (he's 3 years old). If I setup my console to spanish (I think I have the option for english, spanish, and french, right?), will I be able to play wii sports (and I hope other games like rayman) in spanish too? That would be awesome!

Hi
here is the wikipedia explanation of PAL
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PAL

so both UK & Spain use Pal format, but they have slightly different ending letters, which I dont know if will make any difference or not.

Any ideas?
