hi i was wondering if you need to connect wii to internet to use the 24/7 connect thing.

yes you will need to through one of two options...

1) wireless internet. If you have a router hooked up to a computer the receives your internet service the wii will be able to receive its signals.

2) non-wireless internet. I believe you will still need a router, but you also need a cord to attach from your router to your wii. I am pretty sure nintendo will have an adapter to hook that cord into your wii.

thanks so if there was a glitch and nintendo sent a out a patch via connect24 i would need a wireless router to download this patch?

It doesnt have to be wireless but I'm pretty sure you need a router

That depends on your router, not Wii. The router has to have good enough range to connect Wii to the internet wirelessly.
