Recently got a Wii, and today hooked it up to a 42" Panasonic (non-HD) plasma via component video, a combination which normally produces excellent pictures whether SD or HD.
Frankly I'm disappointed - the colour reproduction and general picture quality is ok, but the edge detailing is less than satisfactory - there's a lot of "dithering". For example in Wii bowling, where the bowls have feathered edges.
The Wii's resolution options are 576i, 480p and 480i. Even the 576i and 480p are pretty poor.
Has anyone else had this experience?
Does anybody know if there are plans for Nintendo to upgrade to 576p (or better?
