Wii U Motion Plus Remote on Wii

i have purchased this item off ebay and did not notice the Wii U part on the end.. i have asked at my local games store and they said that the Wii U remote will work on the wii.. this is the item, i hope you can see it,

The Wii-motes work with both Wii and Wii U regardless of which it says it is for. Hardware wise, they are the same.
