Nintendo has released some impressive figures today to remind us all that the Wii is still very much alive and kicking and shifting serious units. According to the NPD Group, the Wii has now crossed the 35 million units sold mark in the United States, reaching that impressive milestone faster than any other console in US history. This follows on from an impressive February for the Wii in terms of US sales, with the console shifting more than 454,000 units.
Nintendo also reports that two of its own Wii titles reached impressive US sales milestones too, with Donkey Kong Country Returns crossing the 2 million mark in February, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii crossing the 8 million sales mark. Impressive stuff indeed! *Let’s hope Nintendo gets cracking soon and releases some more great titles for the Wii.
In terms of third-party games, Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2 was the month’s best-selling game, racking up over 554,000 sales.
