Wii online without wireless!?!

i dont want to have to get wireless internet for my Wii, can i use the USB cord and plug it in to my computer modem, will it work?

you cant connect to the internet through a usb cord.... are you talking about the usb modem that connects to the wii?

yeah the usb port in the back of the modem, could it connect to the Wii usb port

yes, actually it can. all you need is a wii lan adapter. (im preatty sure thats the name)

amazon now sell the ethernet adaptor for £20.00 so you'll just need a hub and patch lead

well with the newer modem i have it came with a blue cord that has on one side a square shape that plugs in to the modem in the back, and on the other side is a usb shape end....could that be similar to the Wii LAN Adaptor/cord?

and might it work?

no it doesnt, i have a modem that sounds exactly like that, the Siemens Speedstream 4200. i just went along later and bought a belkin wireless router for 100 dollars, now the computer goes thru the usb port on the modem, the router runs thru the ethernet so i didnt have to install it on the computer, and voilla, wiinet

Theres some 3rd party LAN adapters out there that people said have worked. The official one wont be released till March or so [prolly when the first online game is released]

IMO, now would be a good time for you to add WiFi to your home. If you do, make sure you turn on wireless protection ie WEP or WPA.

Rofl go to the nintendo site and you can get them from them...Also you can import.
