WII AV port problems

I have a problem with the AV signal coming out of the Wii. No signal is received by the TV. Switching out cables does not fix the problem. How do I fix the AV problem? Even just a link to an online article or how to would help.

The follow-up question is this: there are Miis on the Wii that we can not lose. How can I rescue those miis if I'm unable to fix the AV problem?

Thanks!

Well if you have taken the Wii apart (they are not ment to be) you might of messed up the connection.

One way of transferring Miis across is by storing them on a wiimote

Two rather important issues with your suggestions:

1) I have never taken the Wii apart.
2) How do I get the Miis to the wiimote without being able to see the Wii's output?

After switching out components one by one,
Can be taken as in you where messing about with the insides

Ah, got it.

To clarify: without opening the Wii, I switched out individual components with another system to narrow down the problem. By switching power cables, AV cables, and Sensor Bars, I found the Wii's AV port to be at fault.

Do you have access to another AV cable or TV?

I do. In anticipation of your direction, here is what I have already done:
  1. Wii X stopped working
  2. Wii Y works perfectly
  3. Wii X through Wii X AV Cable to TV X does not work (obvious, given point 1).
  4. Wii X through Wii X AV Cable to TV Y does not work.
  5. Wii X through Wii Y AV Cable to TV X does not work.
  6. Wii X through Wii Y AV Cable to TV Y does not work.
  7. Wii Y through Wii X AV Cable to TV X works.
  8. Wii Y through Wii X AV Cable to TV Y works.
  9. Wii Y through Wii Y AV Cable to TV X works.
  10. Wii Y through Wii Y AV Cable to TV Y works (obvious, given point 2).
Have I missed anything? What else you got?

Bit confusing, but it does sound like its buggered, is the AV port in good nick? (Ie no broken or missing pins)

(Sorry, delayed response.)

Nope, the port looks good. All the right prongs and holes in all the right places, no dirt dust or grime in there!
