Where do u find the friend code?

I know you guys think im an idiot but for some reason i cant find how to get to my friend code thing. I did it once on the day i got the console but i kinda forgot how to... i think i went to wii options and then i did something...i can't remember

Go to your message board and go to the empty sheet of paper on the bottom left
