USB Keyboard & Wii

I havn't been able to find anything on the website so far.

Just got my wii and set it upt to the internet, I'm using the browser powered by opera and I noticed the 2 USB slots in the back, I tried to hook up my keyboard and it wouldn't work.

Can anyone clarify whether or not keyboards will work with the wii, if so are there specific requirements, and how do i set it up properly.

From what I understand arikaa there is no external keyboard that is yet compatible with the Wii, like you I'm new to the Wii but I have looked into that as well.

Yep, sadly that's correct. No Keyboard yet. There were rumors about a Wiikeyboard, but nothing official yet.

The USB slots are for third party divices such as the Wiimote loading station.

i read somewhere a long time ago that the gamecube had a keyboard. no one ever officially stated if that worked or not but i remember people were "trying it"

i have yet to hear a sucess story.
