Upgrading Computer... Opinions?

Hey.
My computer is getting out of date (1 and a half years old) and just wandering what I should get to upgrade it.
I want to spend around like 400-500.
Thats it.

So right now I have an Intel Pentium D (4) Dual Core Processor 3.00 GHz.
Two nVidia 6600 GT's SLi.
1 Gig of Kingston DDR RAM.

I was thinking of buying one 8800GTS 640MB and another gig of ram.
But, is my processor still okay?
I mean, my mobo doesnt support Core 2 Duo and I really dont know if it will even support a 8800GTS.
How can I find out?
Opinions please.

if your mobo doesnt support a dual core CPU then why do you have one in it right now? anyways that CPU is just fine. if you have a PCI-E slot then your computer will support an 8800GTS
