Trying to get system update - 32007

I bought a wii from craigslist several months ago. It is telling me that I have to update the shop channel before I can use it. To do that, I have to do a system update but keep getting error code 32007. I have done a ton of searching and couldn't find anyhing concrete to fix this. I have tried 2 different routers, tried disabling all firewalls, and removed homebrew channel (was on there when I got it). The internet connection test passes but the update won't even try.

How am I supposed to get this update to work?

i had the same problem a while back, i just changed the dns server and it worked. i think the correct code is in karpmods link, cause i don't remeber it right now.
