Well.
I applied to Louisiana Tech a few days ago. Like... A week.
Thing is, their "Scholarship Consideration Deadline" was Jan 3. WHUPS.
So I get a letter like... 2 or 3 days ago, saying, "LOL. ur in." Nothing else.
I was like, "Crap. No scholarship."
But I get a letter today.
"Congratulations on being selected as a Louisiana Tech University scholarship recipient! You have been selected on the basis of your outstanding academic record, a face that you should be very proud of. It is a pleasure to award you the following:
Scholarship - Annual Amount
Louisiana Tech University Outstanding Student Scholarhip - $1,200
GPA Upgrade - 400
Valedictorian (#1 in class) Upgrade - $600
Total Annual Scholarship - $2,200
Total Value over Four Years - $8,800"
And in parenthesis:
(Scholarships such as Band, Athletic, TOPS, and Federal Financial Aid are awarded under seperate cover)
That means I can get MORE MONEY.
See, TOPS helps pay for college in Louisiana. Make good grades, get more money.
So I'm giddy. That's 8.8k, plus TOPS pays for ALOT I hear. The average LSU gets is 4k a year.
And the thing is, I think the tuition to the school I want is around 4-7k per year (they use a quarter system... And there's three quarters per year?)
So yeah.
I think I'm happy.
