The Conduit. Wii Speak problems.

I got the conduit today and everytime i try to use the wii speak while im online it doesn't work or turn on. I tested out the wii speak on the wii speak channel and it works fine there but idk whats wrong with when i try it with the conduit. Please Help.

I don't have the game yet, but from what I've heard, you can only use WiiSpeak with people registered as friends. Have you tried registering anyone in the Conduit and then using WiiSpeak?
