John Tanaka(IGN) said:February 5, 2008 - Early sales data from Japanese game site Mantan Web has revealed an initial sales total of around 700,000 for Smash Bros. Brawl over in Japan. The figure covers the first four days of sales, from the Thursday launch through Sunday.
The Mantan Web columnist, Taketo Matsuo, an employee of Japan's Tsutaya media retailer, expects the game to top the million mark this week.
While not providing specific numbers, Matsuo also revealed a second place finish for the PS3 version of Devil May Cry 4.
The rest of the top ten had Tales of Destiny Director's Cut (Limited Edition) in third, followed by Disgaea 3 (PS3), Winning Eleven 2008 (PSP), Assassin's Creed (SP3), Wii Fit (Wii), Haruhi Suzumiya no Dowaku (PS2), Devil May Cry 4 (Xbox 360), and Tales of Destiny Director's Cut (Standard Edition).
Full sales numbers should be released later this week.
