Shop channel wont work

Everything on my Wii is working great...except for the shop channel. I choose the icon for the shop channel and it goes into the "connecting stage" and is will just say that it is loading for an hour or more, I can never get into the shop channel and I want to get some of the vintage nintendo games...Please help me!!!

I'd contact Nintendo and see what they have to say about it.
