SEGA and Nintendo Partnership

The last Nintendo Direct revealed that SEGA is partnering up with Nintendo to bring the next 3 Sonic games exclusively to the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS. What does this mean? Hopefully it means Nintendo will help SEGA with the Sonic franchise revive. Also if this partnership is successful, could Sega possibly become a second party developer for Nintendo? Does this mean Sonic will definitely make it into Super Smash Bros. 4?

Galaxy was an improvement over Sunshine. As was Galaxy 2 over 1.

I've never heard of any past the first 2 and U, along with the DLC.

I take it it's the DLC that's cause for worry.

I certainly wouldn't mind seein' a truly fantastic Sonic game on par with somethin' like Galaxy 1, as the poor hedgehog has had t' suffer through much bullshit over the past decade. With Ninty's help, it could most certainly happen. Perhaps such a success could finally put Sonic '06 behind 'em.
