Ok here's my situation.
I have my Wii set up in my living room, where the neighbor's Wifi hotspot is weak as all getout. My Windows 7 Desktop PC is in my bedroom about 15ft away which has two 802.11g cards hooked into it (one of those is connected to the neighbor's Wifi at a decent speed thanks to a hi-gain antenna, the other is set-up as an ad-hoc connection). The internet is shared to my ad-hoc hotspot through ICS and it works with my notebook (I'm posting to WiiChat using it via my notebook right now), but not my Wii. IS there any way of getting my Wii to connect to my Ad-Hoc hotspot without buying a router, a Nintendo Wi-fi USB adapter, or a Wii Lan Adapter?
