Restore overwritten save game slot

My kid overwrote a game slot in Wii Lego Star Wars that was 67% complete. :sick:
Is there any way to restore that prior file? If not how can I prevent this from happening again?

a good spanking might do it... too late for that. you could backup data on a card in the future, but kiss that data goodbye, sorry...

No you cant.

If you are with kids its best to use the last slot on the save point (if Lego Star wars has that function) as a kid will always go for the easiest one
