remote not connecting

help! Hope you guys can help me. Wii worked fine for almost a year but today when i turned it on, the remotes wouldn't connect (when it says press A). All lights flash on the controls, but no connection. Changed batteries, so its not that. Tried all four remotes, but none connect. Tried pressing the red button near the memory card input (is there a mehtod to do this? I just pressed it and hoped). No luck. Anything I can do to solve this??? Thanks in advance.

on the front of your wii is the red button to re-sync your remote try that

When you press the red button behind the memory card door you also have to press the red button inside the battery compartment of the remote. The lights should stop blinking a few seconds after doing this and the remote will be synced to your Wii. Repeat this process with each remote one at a time. The manual has more information if you need it.

Neither you or the original post said anything about the red button on the remote itself. Nothing will happen if you just press the red button on the Wii.
