Ubisoft has today announced a new Shaun White game, which we probably all knew was going to happen after his amazing triumph at the Winter Olympics! What we maybe weren’t expecting was that it would be a skateboarding game rather than a snowboarding one. Let’s not forget though, Shaun is the first athlete to win gold medals in both skateboarding and snowboarding at the Summer and Winter X Games, so if anyone can publish games in both genres, it’s him. This is what the awesome Mr White had to say about the forthcoming game:
“I can’t describe how excited I am about the skateboard game. We’ve been working on it for a while now and it’s ready to melt minds.”
And here’s Tony Key, US senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft throwing his two cents in:
“As we’ve seen at the Olympics, Shaun is a one-of-a-kind action-sports athlete. Shaun’s enthusiasm for skateboarding shines through in this truly unique game.”
Shaun White Skateboarding is currently in development at Ubisoft Montreal, and is scheduled to be released in time for the holidays this year.
