Quantum of Solace - Multiplayer Issues

I have 2 controllers for my Wii but at a party the other night we linked another 2 controllers into my Wii for some tennis action. This worked fine so I thought I'd try out Quantum on 4 player but it would only let me play 2 player.

What am I missing here? All 4 controllers were linked properly and worked with sports a couple of minutes before...?

Did you try resetting the console and trying it again?

I didn't actually, will try that at the next party... the old reboot trick. Any other ideas if that doesn't work?
