PS3 wifi? pfft...

My friend got a ps3, i wanted to go online etc...and yes i did know that it had wifi.
So i selected Ps store and it said:
you need to be apart of PS network.
then it said i needed an ethernet cable to get conected to the internet!
Wi-FI my ASS!
does anyone know why this is cuz this is a rip!

me and my friend figured this out, newbs xD
its like in internet connection settings, you change it to wireless
but make sure its the 600 model cause i believe the 500 dosent even have it
when you set up the internet it will ask you wireless, wired, yadadada
