Nintendo Wii and the *blue light*

I was wondering if the blue light that illuminates from the disk slot is suppose to only light up when inserting and ejecting the disk or during game time? If it is suppose to be on constantly how do I get it to do so, mine is only lit for a brief moment when I insert and eject a disk.

it only lights up when u put the disc in & out & when u have a message

It lights up quickly when turning on the console, and stays on if you have your Wii in standby mode and you have a message. However once you turn your Wii on, or open the message it goes off. No way to make it stay on for good.
