nintendo wifi adapter

i have 2 situations i need info on, concerning the adapter.

1) i have a laptop that has a wirelss connection (i connet to my neighbors internet..illegal yea, but oh well) so if i plug in the adapter to my laptops wirelss port, can i get the signal from that onto my wii?

2) if i use my home connection which is wired, can i plug the adapter into the computer which is hooked up to the modem, to broadcast the internet signal to my wii?

any information about the adapter would be awesome. thankyou

You should be able to pick up your neighbor's connection on the Wii. As for your wired connection, yes, this should work.
