Poor FlingSmash! This newly announced Wii game from Nintendo might easily have got lost and forgotten amidst the fanfare of exciting news from Nintendo’s media summits this past week, all about big hitters such as Super Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid: Other M, Monster Hunter Tri and Sin and Punishment. However, although Nintendo has provided scant details about the game, it has released lots of really colourful and slightly mad screenshots that are intriguing enough to make us want to find out a lot more about FlingSmash.
As you can see from the screenshots, FlingSmash involves bouncing a ball-like hero through side-scrolling stages, combining the precision and accuracy of racket sports with the unpredictable fun of pinball. According to Nintendo the game is only playable using the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is a bit of a pain if you don’t already have one. Still, you’re probably going to need a MotionPlus unit for the forthcoming Zelda game too, so why not splash the cash anyway?! FlingSmash is due to launch this summer.
