I just got a new Sylvania 19" LCDTV (model LC195SL8) and have been trying to look up some specs for it all morning. Although the contrast ratio/native HD output are fine, apparently the TV only does a native aspect ratio of 4:3, not 16:9. With a widescreen TV (it's 1440x900) does that mean it's just taking a standard 4:3 image and stretching it to fill the screen? When I play my Wii and adjust all the settings to do widescreen 480p (I have component cables) is it actually displaying the best possible widescreen settings?
Incidentally, is there a reason my characters in wii sports look pretty jaggy around the edges? Is it just how it looks normally with this setup?
Thanks!
