Need advice please

Hi guys, so first time posting, need some help, Haven't played our Wii now for about 6 years and daughter is now at an age that we are playing the sports and other games, tried to update online and kept getting error codes, that doesn't really bother me, main thing I am wondering is do I have to update in order to play new games? So if I bought her just dance 2015 for Xmas would it work ok?Thanks B

If the games need updating they will have it on the disc and will install it its self
Some games no longer have online functions as Nintendo turned it off earilyer this year
