Only a couple of weeks now until the release of Monster Hunter Tri on April 23rd (20th in North America), and to embellish even further what is shaping up to be a truly impressive gaming experience, Capcom has just announced today that once the Nintendo Wii game is on sale, fans can expect the release of a series of unique online quests, which will be accessible for limited time periods. These special quests will extend the player experience by offering monsters and rewards only available while the quests are open. Successful completion of the online quests will enable players to upgrade their weapons and armor with rare items that they can then take into the standard single-player or multiplayer quests.
The quests, of which there are three types in all (Event, Gigantic Monster, and Arena) will be based on a cyclical schedule, and will be available multiple times, offering a number of opportunities for players to experience them. A schedule of quests will be updated on Capcom’s community site, Capcom Unity, at www.capcom-unity.com, on the first Friday of every month.
Finally, Monster Hunter fans in New York have the opportunity to take an early sneak peak at the special event quest content during the Monster Hunter Tri launch party at the Nintendo World store on April 17th, 2010. Visitors to the store will be able to try their luck at online and co-op hunting before the game is released, getting the chance to participate in a two-player battle for special Monster Hunter Tri prizes as well as getting to meet the game’s producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Kaname Fujioka.
