After the large amount of profits made in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, Sega has decided to make a sequel, which will be held in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. They have seemed to get very creative, putting in bobsledding, speed skating, and downhill skiing.
They have taken full advantage of the Wii and it’s accessories by designing this game to use the Wii balance board for snowboarding. They also added two games to it, which will not happen anytime soon in Winter Olympics, dream snowboarding and dream snow fight (sounds like a LOAD of fun to me).* “Dream snow fight was a four-on-four event that took place in a small arena with a few brick walls to hide behind. You use the Wii Remote’s D pad to move and flick so you can throw snowballs, and when you run out of snowballs, you can make more with the A button. There’s also a trade-off when choosing your character because smaller ones will be faster; however, the slower, bigger characters will be able to carry more snowballs.” – Source: Gamespot

As well as new games, Sega took the liberty of adding new characters as well. Bowser Jr. has entered the Olympics, and so has Silver, a new, silver hedgehog type creature. Final impression of game: Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games seems to have plenty of fun games to participate in, and the idea of using the balance board in new ways seems to be exciting.
