Madden 10 All play vs advanced

Hey gang. Can someone direct me please? My son and I are loving Madden 10. But the only way I can find to play the Advanced mode vs the All Play mode is in the "Road to the Super Bowl" and this is only together on the same team. How can we play against each other in the advanced mode. Doing play now is only for now all play...at least that I can find?
