SEGA Confirms Let's Tap for US and EU
Yuji Naka's distinctive Wii game heading west this summer.
by Martin Robinson, IGN UK
UK, February 3, 2009 - SEGA has announced that it's set to bring Sonic-creator Yuji Naka's eccentric Wii game, Let's Tap, to Europe and the US this summer.
Let's Tap, the debut project from Yuji Naka's own Prope studio, uniquely eschews direct controller interaction, instead using the Wii Remote's accelerometer to register the speed and pressure of your finger as they tap on a flat surface.
There are five different game types available - Tap Runner, Silent Blocks, Bubble Voyager, Rhythm Tap and Visualizer - with a total of ten different play modes, ranging from single-player offerings to all-out four-player finger mayhem.
Gark Knight, SEGA's european marketing director said of the news, "Let's Tap offers a new and innovative way of playing on the Wii which only a videogame legend such as Naka-san could have ever possibly imagined."
