just got here and need some help with wii shop

Hey I'm Andrew and I just got my wii a week ago. When I click on the wii shop channel nothing loads and the screen goes black. I also can't go back to the main menu without restarting the wii. Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

That's a very strange thing, indeed!
Try calling Nintendo, or update your Wii if it needs it.
