As MCV reports today, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has finally been bumped off the top spot in the UK after 9 weeks’ rule. Even more amazingly, the game to do the dirty on MW2 is Ubisoft’s surprise hit, the Wii exclusive Just Dance. MCV points out that Just Dance is Ubisoft’s first number one since Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 in March 2008.
The fun dance game is also now Ubisoft’s most successful Wii release to date. If you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, Ubisoft’s booty-shaking tour de force enables up to four people to follow on-screen choreographed moves set to classic dance tunes, with more than 30 licensed tracks featured in the game, including the ubiquitous U Can’t Touch This from MC Hammer, and Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Want to Have Fun.
“Just Dance is a fun game for all ages where players will learn real dance moves set to classic and modern songs across all genres they know and love,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer of Ubisoft. “The concept is simple and whether players are looking for fun, exercise or a good time with friends and family, we feel everyone will enjoy Just Dance.”
