Its Been a Year since Ive fired up my Wii - What have I missed???

Its been a little over a year since Ive played my Wii and mario kart, What things have I missed. I see people doing tricks now? Are their cheats now? unlockables? someone PLEASE fill me in !!! Thanks !!

There has always been tricks and unlockables.
(Never heard of cheats yet)
Just new tournaments.

yeah theres alot of hackers now, but alot of cool legitimate shortcuts have been found.
