Hi
We are newbies to Nintendo wii, Well tell a lie we have had it a month but only today connected it to the internet. Anyway the reason for my post is when we used to switch it off the light would go red on the consol. However now it is orange and every so oftern the blue light where the discs go flashes. Is this normal???

Hello and welcome. Yes, this is all normal. The orange light means that your Wii is in standby with Wiiconnect24 turned on; you can turn this off by going into Wii Settings (which will result in your light being red again when powered off)...you may notice that your console gets rather hot, and to me this is a bad thing but some have no problem with this.

As far as the blue light, this was put in the mix with the last update to come on when you insert a disc...isn't it pretty? You will also notice that this blue light comes on when you have a message on your Wii. If you turn off Wiiconnect24 it will no longer tell you when there is a message.

orange means u got u got wiiconnect24....which means u got...uh... u can messages and go online

blue illuminate slot goes off like that when u insert a disk or when u get messages
