How long?

I was wondering to myself how long will it be or how long does it take for new consoles to be made and lauched? ie how long do you think it will be before a new Xbox or Wii will be brought out?

Typical cycle is 5-7 years, 5 is usually as long as it lasts for.
We should hear solid rumors about new things in about 3 years though.

It all depends on how the sales go. There is no point in releasing a new console when the current one is still selling well.

Most companies release a "slim" version of the console after 2 or 3 years to try and reinvigorate the market.
