How long the friend code registration process is

I`ve already registered 3 codes, and they registered me, but i cant send messages, and I cant use the mii parade, how much time i have to wait until it starts working.

The friends codes I have heard reports of hours and I have seen it happen in minutes. The Mii parade is a bit different. You can expect the parade to start growing 2-3 days after you have entered friends.
