Help! With Howling Stones!

I'm at the part where I help spirit with the light tears and am at the howling stone in the area (by death Mountain). I cannot seem to do, am I doing it wrong?:mad2:

How do I do it properly?
How do I tell?
Do all I use be A and C-stick?
How am I supposed to hit the notes?
THE Rythm is up, center, down then repeats...
Do I got like: Up, hold then straight down and hold and release and repeat?

To howl in the center, I think you need to let go of the control stick. Try that.

Yeah, I go up release quickly, center, down quickly hold, release and repeat.

Okay, instead of letting go of the control stick for howling in the center, try holding right on the stick for center. So you would do up, right then down and repeat. Make sure you hold them if the song requires you to.

I couldn't do it either. It seemed so easy - up, centre, down then repeat. I'm sure I did it ok, but evidently not.

My question is though, I carried on playing after I thought I did it (didn't know you get whisked away and made to repeat it!) and now I'm at the stage where I just beat the giant Goron in the mines. Is there any way I can go back and do the howling stone again???

I think I saved over my progress too, so I'll cry if I can't go back...
