Gamecube games on the Wii.

Hi........not long had a Wii,got a few games etc,somebody gave me a couple of Gamecube games as well which fire up the Wii menu ok,then it searches for a memory card which it cant find cos i havent got one,then asks me to continue by pressing A on the remote which does absolutely nothing and i get no further than that.......being a Wii rookie,where am i going wrong ?,and what do i do?....................thanks if anybody can advise....DGS.:smilewinkgrin:

Gamecube games only work on a game cubepad
