Gamecube game on the Wii not working

I have just brought the Gamecube game The Legend of Zelda Wind Walkers & this is the first Gamecube game I've attempted to play on my Wii. However, when I put the game in the console says it can't read the disc. I have a Gamecube controller & memory card. Any suggestions?!?
