Gamecube controller extenders

Has anyone tried these on your Wii? I tried two and neither would work. The controllers work fine w/o the extenders. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if I just got ahold of two bad extenders.

btw, has anyone tried the wireless controllers from the gamecube?

I would like to know because I was about to order some. Just bought two 3rd party controllers but the cables are too short.

The 1st party Nintendo Wavebirds definatley work and are a great addition to the Wii console.
