Forrest Temple: Big Key

I've got the boomerang. Now im at a place with a gate and a chest behind it that has the Big key in it. There are 4 windmill pillars that i know i have to hit. I hit them in the order that is on the floor (The Z-shape) yet it still will not open up? Any ideas what im doing wrong? thanks

How did you get the boomerang. I am in the room with the flying tiles but there is no way to get the the monkey of the chest from behind the wooden planks. HELP please getting fustrated.

there should be 2 short pillars which you can light with yor lantern. do this and a staircase appears
