If you’re a fan of vector games then you’ll be very interested to hear about British developer Nnooo’s forthcoming WiiWare game, escapeVektor: Chapter 1, which is a retro-style arcade game where the player controls Vektor, an entity trapped inside your Wii. It’s up to you to help Vektor escape from inside your Wii’s CPU (hopefully he won’t break anything!), where he’s being held captive. As he tries to make his escape, he’s targeted by enemies that are sent out by the Wii’s CPU to stop him. Each enemy type has different hunting patterns and intelligence, making escape harder and harder to achieve as the game progresses. However, it’s not all bad news, as to help you, you’ll also unlock new abilities as you progress through the game. The further you progress, you’ll also unlock old code and memories which reveal more about Vektor’s past, thus setting up a whole series of forthcoming escapeVektor games. Here’s Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo, talking about the game:
“We wanted to bring back some of the simplicity and style of the old arcade games but with a modern twist. For some of us, it will be like reliving our youth. We want this to feel like a blast from the past with cool, stylized graphics and a great sound track.”
Look for escapeVektor: Chapter 1 to be released on WiiWare in the second half of 2011.
