Error 51420, please help

Ok, so I bought the unofficial adapter, and it seems to work fine. My Wii recognizes it right away, however I can't connect. I've got my cable internet running straight into my computer, and my Wii wired to a second NIC, with ICS turned on (same config my Xbox and Xbox 360 would use). Am I doing something wrong? Or should I be using a standard ethernet cable rather than a crossover?
